Better odds asking your local branch manager to make a phone call? Credit card approval?
Just thinking. If you have accounts with a bank, can asking your branch manager to make a phone call to the credit dept to good will over turn a denial. Does it work?

Depending on the bank and underwrting requirements.. A branch manager may or may not be able to overwrite a denial... I doubt they would have much of a chance for a large bank like. Wells, BofA, US Bank, ect.
