Bill Consolidation Question

I am considering joining the credit union in my town. I have heard that they can help me consolidate my debt's into one monthly pymnt. I am wondering how a credit union can help but my bank that I have been with for 4 years can not. That seems a little fishy to me. But Im not familiar with the credit unions practices either. My fico score is 575 at the moment, Is this a personal loan unsecured or what? Do they require collateral, I dont have any collateralSmiley Sad I also have some collections but then again I have some good standing accts that are open and the collections are one of the reasons for the loan. How does bill consolidation work and does it look bad on the credit report or my fico score? Thank you

Re: Bill Consolidation Question

CUs are generally more lenient, personal and are more willing to work with you. With large banks you are just a number. Smiley Happy And you know what that number is!
