No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I tried to set up an AMEX Bluebidr account for my mom, who is greencard holder and got her SSN about six months ago. First I tried online to register for a card. At the last step, Bluebird site said that "We cannot verify your information,....". Last night, I bought a temp Bluebird card at local walmart, and when it came to last step of registration, I got the same rejection message. I called BB and they could not see any specific rejection reason. Now I am wondering that it may be that her info is not logged in any credit bureau.
Can anyone suggest how she could get her info into the credit system? TIA
If she has not previously applied for credit, she may not have a credit file.
The other thing that may be a factor is that it's a newly issued social security number.
Can you add her as an authorized user on one of your credit cards?
Thanks for your reply. I did add her to one of my AMEX credit cards about two months ago, during which I believe her SSN was asked. Should I wait for a bit longer before I try BB again? Some creidt card issuers don"t even ask for AU's SSN.

Bluebird is not a credit card, and verification doesn't necessarily go through the credit bureaus.
There are other databases for verifying SSNs, DL #s, addresses, and so on, and you might try to find out which of these is being used.
That is the info AMEX/BB representatives won't tell me about (or more like that they don't know either)
