Building Credit, Joint Owner on Wife's card and effects

I've been kinda reading these boards but not really a member.  Until today.  Had a question and figured I'd ask the lot of you, since you tend to be far more knowledgable about these things than me.

Got my FAKO from Experian yesterday 667.  Got 3 small credit cards, limits between 300 and 500 to start to work on what was a no credit history, also have a car loan as well.  Car loan has been on their and paid since 11/07 and the 3 cards all have start dates from 12/07 to 3/08.  Paying them down, and they're getting closer and closer to being down to 30% or less usage.  The age of the accounts I know are killing me so I'll have to just let them age and get to that 3 year mark and hopefully get the limits raised even though I have no intent of using the full limit.  I have nothing negative on my account everything paid on time, just don't have the extended history I'd like.

Now here goes the question.  I just got married in October.  My wife has credit around 800 and has 2 cards a discover and a cap one around 7500 limits.  She needs to call and get her name changed to her new married name etc.  She's thinking of adding me to at least one if not both as a joint owner of the account.  Not the authorized user.  The discover has a start date of around a year or so and the cap one is only a few months old.

Her credit comes from store cards etc.

What effect will adding me have on her limits etc?  What effect will it have on my credit score?  I'm thinking as I'm writing this that I'd be best getting her to add me to some of those other cards that have the extended history so as to up my average account age.

Let me know what you guys think.
