CA will try to report an old CA account they have as 90 or 120 past due though it has been a collection for years.
Essentially by reporting an old account as maximum 120 past due now it makes it seem like a new account. So when somebody pulls your credit the analysis will show a recent 120 past due. What I saw on one report was the agency over a year would report 120 past due then report it is CA for a few months then report it 30,60, 90,120 past due over several months and then CA.
Over a year they did this 3 times which makes it seem like you have had three 120 past due in the last year when really it's one old account in CA years ago. It appears like multiple delinquencies on many accounts with late payments.
The CRA don't stop this deceptive reporting but they should!
