CA - Virginia License?

Does anyone know if CAs are required to be licensed in Virginia in order to collect?  None of the CAs on either mine or SO credit report are showing on the SCC website except for two that are based here in VA.... Need to know if I should continue with legal action.  I tried looking all over the place but couldn't find a darn thing, maybe someone here can shed some light on the situation.

I've seen that online, but for license it says "Depends on locality".  Do you know the specifics regarding that?

You would need to check with both the county and if applicable city/town where you live.  Their website should have something under consumer affairs
