My husband and I recently pulled our cr through our lo and found a medical collection. We called the CA and asked who the OC was and they stated that it was the primary care physican. The CA was not able to provide us with the contact information for the primary care physican. We called the hospital and was unable to obtain contact info for the pcp either. We wrote a dispute letter last week to the CBs but what else could we do to speed up the process of deletion? I called my insurance company and they told me that they paid the hospital 493.33 but the amount that is showing we owe is 494.00. I figured that the CA rounded up the amount.
Ask the ins company to mail you a statment that they paid. While you wait. Mail the Pre HIPAA dispute to all CRAs reporting. Be sure to opt-out with the CRAs and all creditors that you are in good standing with.
When the dispute is completed then mail the OC letter with a copy of the letter from the ins company. This should be mailed CMRRR. Wait for an answer from the OC.
Good News!!! The CRA and CA deleted the account from his CR. The OC stated that the claim was not submitted to the Insurance Company and stated that they would send in the claim and have the account deleted off our report. The account was deleted within a few days and his score increased on Equifax by 20 points plus we paid off one of our CC and paid the other one down. We got the CC to remove the lates also!!
I am still curious as to what the Opt Out Notice would do concerning the deleted medical collection.
The CRAs farm out all your info to CAs. You do not want any info. going out! This is how a lot of old (past CRTP) collections come back to haunt you.
