CA question

Hi
I am new here, but have gathered quite a bit of info from my reading. I have a very basic question. In 2005 I went on temporary duty to Guam. My Cingular cellphone never indicated roaming,, so imagine my surprise when I had a $1400 plus phone bill. I contacted Cingular, disputed the charges, which they refused to reverse. I told them I could not pay the entire balance, but would continue to pay regular payments on top of my normal bill. They didn't buy that. The account was closed and turned over to a CA right away. I continued to pay to the OC until the bill was completely paid in late 2006. I would like to have the collection removed from my CR. What would my options be? Thanks in advance.

Re: CA question

Who is reporting, the OC or the CA?

You paid only the OC?

Re: CA question

The CA is reporting. As far as I can remember I paid only to the OC.

Re: CA question

Hi New here too but from what I learned the first thing you do is send a DV letter to the CA, also try to find your records of payment to the OC ie. bank statements etc. too.

Re: CA question

i had an issue with a CA reporting even though they werent the ones that were paid, i sent the CA aletter requesting proof that they were the payee, if they couldnt prove it they had to delete, it worked for me cause i myself had proof that my attorney paid the OC (was in a car accident, the other person isr. company was lagging on my settlement),   anways ask happydays for the letter as i dont have it saved to my home comp, happydays gives good advice, i just some more on 1 new issue i have.
good luck
