CA refusing to delete after saying they would after payment in full

I sent a PFD letter to a CA they wrote me back saying they would delete after payment in full. I sent them payment in full they cashed the check but now they wont delete they say its "not their policy to delete" even after sending me the letter saying they would, they said the rep that wrote that wasnt following their policy =( Could I send the letter and a copy of the check to the credit bureaus? Would the bureaus delete it?

Can you paste the letter here so others can read it?

Who cares what they say, send the letter to the CRA. You have proof that it should be deleted.

Re: CA refusing to delete after saying they would after payment in full

The letter i wrote them was the standard PFD letter on the forum just with my account number and social on it. They sent me a letter back half was typed saying they will not settle on the account must be paid in full blah blah blah then in green ink at the bottom of the page someone hand wrote "they can only delete with payment in full...And the ink and hand writting matched the address on the envelope. Once i recieved the letter I called them to make payment over the phone the guy that answered the phone said they cannot delete due to policy but he did see the letter I recieved in the computer...he said "thats very interesting". He gave me the ladies name that wrote it...So i just mailed a copy of the letter with a check for the full amount to them...They cashed the check and here I am with no delete =(

I care to see if the wording is ambiguous.

Re: CA refusing to delete after saying they would after payment in full

wording is everything on a PFD  that is why we ask everyone to post it before paying. We also advice that no one talk to a CA for any reason!!!!!!!

If wording is correct ....doesn't matter if written or typed.......It can be turned against them.

You di keep the letter didn't you?  and send them the copy???

The same thing happened to me. I paid an account in full with a CA they said they would delete when it was paid in full now they are saying they don't delete its against the law. Is there anything I can do now?

Did they promise this in writing?

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of collectors will say absolutely anything if it means that they get their commission from your payment.
