CA sent a letter without any info about OC

I received a letter today from a CA (Parson Bisphop national Collections) for $168.85

The name of the OC is not listed. It goes on and on about how a negative report will affect my credit report. This all just seems so coincidental that I get this after I am trying to clean up my credit and have been looking at my CR's.

I am going to DV.

What do you think about them not including who I supposedly owe this debt to?

Thanks!

Re: CA sent a letter without any info about OC

From reading the FDCPA law I see that they have violated § 809 of the FDCPA by not including the OC's name. Should I mention this in the DV letter?

Also, I know this may be a really dumb question so please bear with me but how am I suppose to include the USPS certified mail number in the DV letter I am sending? I've never sent anything certified mail but I would think the letter would have already been sealed at the time I would get a number??

Please help!

Thanks!

Re: CA sent a letter without any info about OC

When they sent the dunning letter, yes, they had to include the OC and how much was owed.

Send the DV letter.  They know what is required to be included in validation.

Either go to the P.O. before sealing the letter and get the CMRRR or take the unsealed letter with you when you pick up the CMRRR.
