Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

Make sure of your state's SOL and the DOFD/DOLA on these accounts. If truly out of SOL, then DV them. The stupidity of CAs never cease to amaze me.

Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

If you only have 1 year left, there is no point in paying them.... unless you will be needing service from Verizon again in the future.

Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

I would like to refinance in the near future (less than a year) do I have to pay off the ca accounts before applying?

Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

Use the 1-2 punch. DV and dispute with the CRAs. Ensure that you are past SOL though.

Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

In that case, pay them and get proof. Then do a rapid rescore.

Re: COLLECTION ACCT QUESTION!!!!!

Not sure what you mean by verified. The CA has to validate the debt, according to what you ask them to validate. If you send a strong letter (search Lonnster), they have to provide what you ask for. A statement or some other flimsy "proof" doesn't satisfy validation in my eyes. Make them prove that they have the right to collect from you. After all, you don't want to pay the wrong people do you?
