Can They Do That?!

Ok here's my situation.

I had a lease.  I defaulted on my last payment.  I know STUPID!

I defaulted Sep. 2003.  Of course it went into collections.  I paid the balance April 2005.

American Honda Finance reported twenty (20) 90+ lates from Sept. 2003 until April 2005!

Can they do that?!

Help...I am trying to get my credit score up over 700 by next year.  It's currently 660.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would GW them ASAP.  I am dealing with Honda Financial myself.  I was out of the country for 3 months late last year, and my auto pay did not kick in.  The day I came back from Africa I called and paid them.

They showed two 30 day lates on one CR, and one 60 day late on the other.  I have never been late on a payment before or since .  I have sent 3 letters (one every 2 weeks), and I still have not received a reply and it is still on my CR.

I am not going to give up, and I think you should do the same.  Send a GW letter to them and be persistent. 

If anyone has dealt with Honda Financial with success on the forum, please let us know.  Thanks.

Thanks John...I will give that a try.  It just seems excessive in my opinion.  I thought they could only report late payment history up until the account is charged off.  I'm sure it was sold to the collection agency by end of 2003 at least.  AHF didn't report any lates until I paid the account to the collection agency in April 2005 and then submitted all of those late payments at one time.

I will send a GW letter today.

I sent Honda a GW letter earlier this week and received a phone message today for me to call them back in regards 'to the letter i sent them'...will be calling tomorrow - not to sure what to expect?!?!

What address did you use to send the GW letter to?  Also, can you post your GW letter?  I still have not received a reply.  It is frustrating.

Also, did you have a positive outcome?
