Can a CRA do this?

Re: Can a CRA do this?

Doesn't the fact that they made the changes public knowledge for this person hold accredibility to anything?

Wouldn't that be considered false reporting on the credit reporting agency's part?

I may be new but I have been reading every piece of information I can get my hands on and something about these actions doesn't seem right.

Re: Can a CRA do this?

Hi mudbug. I would say that EQ was fine with how they did things. They have a full 30 days to respond. In the meantime, there could have been other items that updated on the report, giving OP reason to get a SW alert or to pull credit and find out what happened that way.

Re: Can a CRA do this?

I see, now if they would have deleted it while in dispute then they could have hung the agency on a short rope right?

I surely see why this person was upset, I would have been upset to see something of that nature be updated that way and then changed back to.

I am going to go do some more research there has to be something that can help this poster.

Re: Can a CRA do this?

If they had removed it and then put it back on after dispute, I would say OP would have a great case, but being within the dispute timeframe, they were fine.

The thing is that that's the way it is. TLs are taken out of the scoring formula during a dispute. There is nothing that we can do about it. It's how it is.
