By law, CRAs have 30 days to investigate disputes, and they usually take all the time they're allowed, IME. Do not get impatient and contact them before the 30 days are up or else they will tack on an additional 15 days.

when you dispute something online with CRA's that looks like a no-brainer, such as an older item, how long before it is updated, etc? I have an old paid collection and an old paid tax lien that I disputed around 6/20/08...just wondering...thanks!
The FCRA allows them to add an additional 15 days to the investigation period if you provide them with additional information while the dispute is pending. They have been known to add the additional 15 days if you contact them for any reason at all while you have a dispute in progress.
