No.  CA can only report up to 7.5 years from DOFD.  Dispute with the cra as too old.

That's what I thought.  Thanks for the info.  How can I find out what the date of first delinquency is to make sure?

Is it being reported or are you just worried that the CA will report it.

It's being reported on Transunion and Experian.  I just disputed and will see what the result is.

Sometimes when you dispute with Experian, they'll tell you when the account is due to fall off in the notes.  That usually corresponds to DOFD, but there's no good way to tell using True Credit.  You also might be able to figure it out using a MyFico report since they list the dates of delinquencies.

when you dispute something online with CRA's that looks like a no-brainer, such as an older item, how long before it is updated, etc? I have an old paid collection and an old paid tax lien that I disputed around 6/20/08...just wondering...thanks!

By law, CRAs have 30 days to investigate disputes, and they usually take all the time they're allowed, IME.  Do not get impatient and contact them before the 30 days are up or else they will tack on an additional 15 days.

The FCRA allows them to add an additional 15 days to the investigation period if you provide them with additional information while the dispute is pending.  They have been known to add the additional 15 days if you contact them for any reason at all while you have a dispute in progress.
