Can you stop unauthorized Promotional Inquiries?

Does anyone know of a way to stop unauthorized promotional inquires. I would like to block access of these promotions because they add to the inquires on your credit report.

Yes. Dial 1-888-5 OPT OUT or go to www.optoutprescreen.com. This will cut down the number of "preapproved" and promotional inquiries you receive.

However, the promotional inquiries have no effect on your FICO score, and others who pull your credit do not see them. They only see the inquiries which are the result of your initiating the request for credit.

These inquiries do not have an impact on your credit score and are not seen by other creditors.

However, you can opt out of pre-screened offers at www.optoutprescreen.com.
