Re: Cancelling a CCCS

I graduated DMP in November.  There is Life after DMP.  I got a great National City Visa last month and I am starting to receive some pre-approvals again.  Even got on from American Express and I had their Blue card in the program.

You may not get offers from the CCC that you had in the DMP but others will.  Stick it out.

Re: Cancelling a CCCS

Chase  did re-age my accounts when I entered the CCCS about 3 years ago.  Re-aging did not remove any past lates on my CR but did move the account to current and drop all the late fees and slashed the interest rate to 7%.  My original rate was around 17%, so I decided to drop the CCCS program and save the monthy fee of $35.  One of the reasons is that the CCCS tried to trick me into staying because they said Chase would re-instate all the late fees and penalties on top of the old interest rate.  I asked Chase and they confirmed that they would go back to the original rates on the cards but never asked for past lates or penalties and would be illegal to do so.  I would have stayed with the CCCS for convenient but the lie pushed me to cut them.  They definitely helped me during that time but I'm seeing light now at the end of the tunnel.  One more thing, I asked the CHASE agent about good willing the past lates...he said they would not and could not.  How do you find the right person to get this done?

Re: Cancelling a CCCS

Drax, I don't know if it's any different w/a DMP than with any other debt. People on this forum have had success with GWing by continuing to send them and by moving up the chain...never take no for an answer.

Do a search on the threads about GW. You will find a boatload of success stories. Keep trying. You will eventually find someone to say yes. Just don't start at the top like I did. You have nowhere to go from there.
