No. The only debt i have is the student loan which is way more than the cap1 credit limit. I just cant figure out what is out there that i "need" that could be around 500 bucks. The only things i buy with credit card now is like food which i have cut down on because i live on my own and used to eat out pretty much all the times.

Cap 1 is notorious for spamming it's customers with those BT checks. If you don't have any, give 'em a call and ask for a few.

Take one to your bank, fill it out, cash it, stick the money into your savings account, and don't touch it. Once Cap 1 reports the high balance, pay Cap 1 down under 9% util.
