I am looking into possibly setting up a new savings acct (I currently have one with my exisiting bank). Would opening an account with Capital One or Synchrony help me in the eyes of those companies in regards to issuing credit cards or raising limits on current ones? I currently have 2 cards with Cap1 and, as of yet, I have not cracked into Synchrony.
According to this website Sychrony does. 1.00% interest vs 0.75% with Cap1, my current acct is at 0.60%.

Having money in the bank typically doesnt affect a credit decision unless you are at the personal client level. if you are going to open with Cap-1 I would wait for a good bonus to do so, I made $176 with them last year just for opening checking & savings over the July 4th holiday.
Edit: This was for the 360 accounts not in branch with Cap-1

I was refering to 360 accounts as well. They have a $25 bonus to open a savings right now, I don't know if I would consider that "good". I won't be opening a checking with them because, honestly, I am just to lazy to change all of my deposits and payments from my current checking and have no need for multiple accounts.

That is not a good offer, I didnt change my deposits either, I just use my main check account and ACH money to other accounts. The offer I got last yr was $76 for the savings acct (a take on 1776) and $100 for the checking after I used the debit card 5 times. I didnt need the accounts either but I wanted that money LOL!!

Definitely wait for a better offer. I got $100 for checking and $100 for savings right around Black Friday.
