Capital One Deletion Success!

This has been a great week for me    I checked my credit report today and an old Capital One account that was settled for less than the original amount was deleted from my Tranunion credit report!  It was listed as a derogatory account, so with that deletion, my Transuion report doesn't have any more derogatory accounts listed. For some reason, my bankruptcy isn't considered to be "derogatory" according to Transunion.

Now, here is the catch.   This account was only listed with Transunion.  But as of yesterday, it's listed with Equifax.  I guess Capital One found out it got deleted with Transunion and didn't want it totally gone from my life?   (grin).  So now I have to send a goodwill letter to Equifax to see if that listing can be deleted too.

But I"m doing my happy dance about the Transunion deletion!

what did you do to get the deletion?  my cap one is about to fall off on equifax in november, transunion in october but experian says may 2008.  i want to wait until it falls off the other 2 before disputing it with experian.

The Capital One account was listed on my bankruptcy, but that fact didn't show up on my credit report. I wrote and asked them to either list it as being in my bankruptcy OR to please delete it.   I'm SO glad they chose to delete it.  I had about another year+ before it would have dropped off my credit report.
