That’s definitely frustrating; especially since both Capital One and Experian are just bouncing you back and forth. At this point, I’d recommend filing a CFPB complaint against Capital One and clearly explaining that they failed to report to Experian while incorrectly updating Equifax. Sometimes that escalates it to a team that can actually fix it. Also, if you have any statements or proof of your current balance, include them so there’s no excuse. Another option is to send a direct dispute letter to Experian by mail with supporting documents; the paper trail can help when the online disputes get stuck in a loop.
All our Capital One cards reported/updated on Experian on August 16th. Our statements posted the 15th. All's well in Experianland.
