Care Credit

Hello, nice forum here. I am about to pay off my Care Credit loan and was wondering if it is treated like any other pay off and should I expect any changes in credit score? I opted for the 12mo without interest but 5 months in I just want to pay it off. BTW I cant believe the horror stories Ive been reading due to the deffered interest after the promotoion period!

Thanks

Re: Care Credit

For credit reporting purposes Care Credit is treated as a revolving trade line. So even if you pay it off the credit limit will still show with a zero balance. The account will remain open as a revolving tradeline (credit card) on your report. Any change in credit score will depend on what other credit card type accounts you have reporting. It will affect your revolving utilization (in a positive way) and your number of accounts with balances (in a positive way) so there is a chance your credit score may rise slightly depending on your other accounts and any negatives.
