Cell Phone baddie!!

Ok I have read a few threads dealing with cell phone baddies. I am a little confused about the 2 year SOL.. Let's use me as an example.. I have a verizon wireless baddie that I opened in Sep 2006. I paid the debt off this april 2008.. So would that mean the whole account would fall off my report 2 years from the date it was opened.. ? Or from the date that it went delinquent, or from the date it was paid.. Melissa Steele was very nice in the emails and on the phone when she told me to politely get bent after I sent a goodwill :0

SOL is the amount of time in which you can be sued for a bad debt. It doesn't dictate how long it will stay on your report. A CA can be reported for 7.5 years from DOFD, which is the CRTP.

Re: Cell Phone baddie!!

It will fall off 7 - 7.5 years from the date of first delinquency.  The SOL for cell phones is 2 years and is the time in which they could sue you and win.  Since it is paid you do not have to worry about that.

Even though she politely told you no, you can send GW letters.  If they say no, keep sending them.  Eventually you may find some one who will do it.
