Cell phone # loss and credit

I called someone overseas in Nigeria to check out their story.  I didn't believe them in what they were saying.  Not thinking about it I used my cell phone.  They know nothing personal about me including they don't know my name - from me at least.  However, is it possible that by having my cell phone number (and I guess purchasing information about me on the internet) that my credit could be affected.  Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.  I have checked my credit cards and there are no charges to date.  I am purchasing a credit report to watch and although it affects my score I will do one some time in a few months to check it out again.  My credit card companies told me to just monitor my accounts on-line.  I wouldn't think that someone could open accounts under me with just my cell phone, but ?????  Thoughts.

Thanks.

Re: Cell phone # loss and credit

Since its a cell phone, your # is not public information. If it was a landline #, then they could pull up your information through the public directory. If you did not give out any personal information, then honestly I think theres nothing to worry.

"although it affects my score I will do one s..."

I know I am a little late on this, but checking your own credit will not have a negative effect on your credit scores.
