Changing Account Type

Credit Solutions Corp changed an old collection item (should fall off in a little less than a year) to a regular account and showing 90+ days late for the last 3 months and last activity as May 2008. Seems as though this would hurt my score more than an old collection item. Am I right and can they do this? Would disputing help? DOFD is still 2/2002.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Changing Account Type

Couple questions:  Is this account paid or no?  Are these late posts correct?

I'd have to say that an account going from a collections status to a regular acct status can be a good thing.  I still have a couple collections showing on 2 reports & one showing on another & every time I pull my score & they show what's hurting me...the collections always show up first.  So while the lates are a bad thing, no longer having a collection acct is good.  Who is Credit Solutions Corp?  Is that a collection agancy?

Re: Changing Account Type

Credit Solutions Corp is a CA.

No, the accountis not paid. Write off from the OC in 2002. By now showing as a revolving account it shows my utilization over 100% and should be about 5-6%. Really hurting my scores.
A note in the TL says I was just recently located, which is bull because my job & address (PO and street) as listed in all the CRAs have not changed in over 5 years. I'm in TX and the SOL ran in 2006.

I sent them a cease & desist after they called my work several months ago so they haven't contacted me, only playing games with my credit reports.
