Charge Off / New inquiry JPMCB

I had 2 charged off credit cards with JPMCB.  I settled both of the accounts in 2020.  They fell off of my credit report last month.  Today I had a new inquiry from them.  Any ideas why?  I know I've read before that might happen when a debt collector is getting ready to try to collect again but they were both settled.  Thanks in advance.

If your talking a HP. Call and ask Chase why? You didnt apply.

Thanks I called and it looks like it was a case of attempted identity theft.

Thanks very much! I suppose fortunately they chose the wrong bank 😂.  I froze with all bureaus and checked everything else, nothing out of order thank goodness.  They have also removed the inquiry.
