Charge from PrivacyMatters

I signed up for privacymatters and per one these boards cancelled almost immediately taking advantage of the 1 year of service at $29.95.  However, I have yet to be charged.  For anyone who took advantage of this, how long did it take for you to get charged?

I'm reading on other boards that PM had begun offering some sort of 'year for free', not just the $29.95 for the full year.  Many people who got the fee deal have yet to be charged and we think we got in on the free deal. 

PM is not good with sending emails advising of account status.  Cross your fingers, you may not wind up being charged at all.

Gosh their billing organization is horrible.  I checked my account and DH's.

I signed up Oct 18th, got the 'verification' charge $1 on Oct 25, requested the promo on Oct 24th I think.  Still no charge but I am guessing it will come as from PPs experience.

DH signed up Oct 19th, got the 'verification' charge $1 on Oct 23, requested promo approx Oct 24, and still no annual charge reporting either.

They made it seem like the $1 was refundable or would be applied to future charges if you stayed.  Doubt that's what will happen.

I bet you have to request the $1 refund in order to receive it.  I recently signed up for a "free trial" for another unrelated service in which my card was charged a "refundable $1 fee."  When I cancelled, I assumed they would credit the $1.  They didn't.  When I called, they said I had to request a refund of the $1.  I'm sure this is a new type of fee these company's have come up with.  Nevermind, it's offered w/ "free trials."  These companys know that people won't bother trying to get a $1 refund.
