Chase Auto Finance GW - my chances?

I sit here trying to compose a GW letter to Chase Auto Finance about 8 lates (7 30-day and 1 60-day) in 2004. The loan is still open and paid on time for the last 2.5 years.

I am just starting to attempt to clean up my credit and have not yet received responses from the 1 GW and 2 PFDs I sent out [ it's been 11 days already since I mailed! ], so I don't have much confidence that this might actually work for me for soooo many lates on one account. 

Has anyone successfully dealt with Chase or another auto lender under similar circumstances?

11 days is nothing as far as turnaround. There have been people on this forum who their letters took on average 30 days- and then up from there. Be patient. If they deny- write a 2nd one. Then a 3rd, 4th, etc.

There is somone on this forum, can't exactly remember which thread, finally got their wishes for a GW/PFD after four tries. Bugged them to death- I guess they finally figured to get them out of their hair to do it for them.

Hiya Netpanther - I know I am being impatient with the 11 days, hence the smiley. I do eagerly check the mailbox every day to see what is going to happen though.

With Chase Auto you really dont need a detailed GW.  You just need to ask.  I actually logged onto my Chase account and used the secure email option they have on there.  It took two days to get a response.  The thing with them is they only remove one late payment per year.  It also updated on my reports pretty fast.  hope this helps.  good luck

Amesa, thank you SO much for your response. I just went to the secure email option and sent off a letter trying to get the one 60-day late removed at least - that would make me happy and then I can try for more.  THANK YOU for the info!

Followup to this thread in case anyone is searching the forums for Chase Auto Finance like I did:

-On 8/28 I emailed GW letter asking for lates to be removed.

-On 8/30 got an email back that my request was being reviewed.

-On 9/5 I called them about another matter (paying off the loan) and had not received a reply to the email GW. So I asked the CSR about removing lates. She said she could remove one 30-day late - not the 60-day - which she did.

I might try waiting a few months and trying to get others removed.
