Chase Bank question

I just receive a call from Chase Bank inviting me to apply for their credit card.  I have been trying to get a credit card within the last week and I have been denied. I was apparently approved by Orchard bank and asked to paid 49 AF but after paid online the message was we are processing your request and will let you now in the mail.  I dont know if continue applying since my scores are very low already 500's? .  This is the first time someone called me to offer credit card.  Don't know what to do.  I asked them to give me call later today.  Thanks

Pre-screen\Pre-approved does not mean approved. I wouldn't attempt a Chase card with low 500 FICO.

I wouldn't attempt it with low 600s either!  Smiley Sad
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Chase Bank question

and never do anything over the phone, even if you know it's legit, always act on caution.  If you get calls in the future always say, yes I am very interesested, I am just not comfortable doing this over the phone, if you could you just direct me to your website invitation   or mail the information that would be great

Exactly. I always ask for the invitation code then call back using the number from their web site. I don't even respond to mailed offers any more unless they have a code that I can call in.
