Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited never reported on Equifax

I suggest you start off by contacting Chase and telling them that the card is not being reported to Equifax.     If they blow you off file a CFPB complaint that they are not reporting the account to Equifax.    Either way, you want to have a confirmation from Chase that they are reporting correctly to Equifax, but you want to give them a reasonable opportunity (can take 30 days) to reply back to you before filing a CFPB complaint.

Once you have a confirmation that Chase that they are reporting correctly contact Equifax and open up a ticket that while Chase has affirmed they are reporting the card to Equifax correctly, the card is not showing up on your credit report.

If Equifax does not correct the problem file a CFPB complaint against Equifax.    It's possible you either have a split file or the entry is being incorrectly reported on someone else's credit report (I've been down both paths with Equifax before myself).

At this point you don't know where the problem is, so you have to start at the beginning of the trail and work toward the end while maintaining the abiltiy to apply leverage when and where needed.   Equifax has their issues but they aren't always at fault.

Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited never reported on Equifax

My read of the FCRA is that a creditor that reports account information to a CRA must report accurately.  However, I've never seen text that requires a creditor to report account information to a specific CRA (or to any CRA).
