Chase GoodWill Response. what does it mean?

i repeatedly send goodwill  letters to chase. usually i get a reply that says they cant alter correct information because it was compromise the integrity of the credit reporting system.

recently, i got a response that said.....my credit report has been updated to reflect the necessary changes. but it list the late payments in the letter as a reference for "accurate"

im confused: either i made matters worse and may have gotten a late payment or two added or the account was actually goodwilled in some way and chase sent/the representative that did the GW sent this letter as procedure to cover their a**.

what do you think guys? has this ever happened to anyone?

Re: Chase GoodWill Response. what does it mean?

I am in the process of GWing Chase.  If you want a quick response you can send them a GW letter through their secured message system.  I got the same response that you said you have gotten "can't alter correct information because it would compromise the integrity of the credit reporting system".

My main contention is, I didn't get my bill in the mail because I had recently moved.  The Chase rep also advised that I had not changed my address on my account in two years (I had overlooked updating my address on my Chase account).  I replied that my account now, after receiving her response, reflects my current address.  I hope it works!

Chase is a hard nut to crack.  Whether you move or not, you know you owe the bill.  I haven't heard of anyone getting gw from Chase.  Smiley Mad

I knew I owed the bill, hence the reason it was paid in full, as soon as I realized I had missed a payment.

Re: Chase GoodWill Response. what does it mean?

To update my GW, I received another message from Chase today, through their secured message system, stating that my one delinquency has been REMOVED!!

Re: Chase GoodWill Response. what does it mean?

You have to be logged into your Chase account to use the secured message system.  Then I just selected.....I can't remember which category I selected (you select from a drop down menu).  I just sent the message and received a message that they would forward my message on to the right department.  I am still excited!!!
