Hi, this is my first time post, so please help me out. I opened a CC account with Chase in October 2007. I had a death in my family in December and I had to charge the related costs on my account, which amounted to nearly $10k, most of my available credit line. I have been making huge payments on the account, but I inadvertently asked it to deduct from the wrong account and the payment bounced. I realized it before they did and called them to let them know. I have never been late or gone over the limit. Then, Chase decided to close my account because I ran up most of my available credit in such a short period of time, even though I had already been making large payments back.
Now, the CC has been paid in full, and when I pulled my credit history, it says that the account has been "closed by lender" which looks really bad in my opinion. I want them to delete it and they told me to fax in a letter to their correspondence department--they gave me the run around over the phone. I've seen other posters who said that they were sucessful in getting Baddies off, but how about for this?
So, two questions:
1) Is this affecting my score?
2) Any suggestions on the letter I should send? Here's a draft below.
Thanks in advance to all.

Dear Chase:
I have enjoyed my experience with company name greatly. I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a "goodwill" adjustment to your reporting to the three credit agencies.
Chase closed my account, and currently on my credit reports it says that the account has been “closed by lender”. Even after Chase made the decision to close my account, I paid the account promptly and in full. I would like you to consider deleting the account from the three credit agencies. When it pulls up as “closed by lender” it looks bad on my credit report and it is not a good indicator of my payment history and my demonstrated responsibility with credit. I hope that company name is willing to work with me on erasing “closed by lender” from my credit reports.
I was a very happy customer of Chase, and while I am saddened by your decision to close my account, I hope that Chase will consider the adjustment to the three credit agencies. I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
BxSadi
