Chase contact for "goodwill" letter?

Hi all,

New here and in a horrible position. Business cc has now been reported to my personal credit report as 60 days past due. This tanked my credit score by 175 points. The situation is a bit extenuating and while I spoke with Chase credit burea agents, they said there is no way they can legally offer a "courtesy" deletion of the 60-day derogatory reporting. I asked if they would be able to make an exception if the balance was paid in full ($90k+) and they said no. Is this accurate? I have read sucess stories of others getting an exception with "goodwill" letters sent etc. Anyone have any insight, contacts, or experience with this in 2024 or recent? Thank you in advance. This has been a nightmare.

the credit card is personally guaranteed, the account owner is personally responsible, it will report to personal credit if late/charged off

you can always ask for lates to be removed but they're under no obligation for you to do so, if you can pay it off, do so immediately before a 60 day late turns into a charge off.

Re: Chase contact for "goodwill" letter?

Thanks for the response. Is there a more formal contact anyone has to write to explaining the situation? General customer service or the credit reporting reps seem powerless. I have never missed a payment with Chase for personal cc's, loans, or even on this card for that matter but the company went into liquidation during which Chase received a creditor claim and never did anything about / nor did they respond. I also received absolutely no notices of missed payments, calls, or secure messages etc.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. There's nothing wrong with trying to reach out to their executive team. Look at ceoemail.com for the info you're looking for. However, and not to be a Debbie Downer, but the only successful GW deletions I recall seeing from Chase have been when they were the ones in error.

The reasons for the massive score hit: The $90k is significant on its own. If you can pay it off, that would likely help you regain some of your points back due to the reduction in a high reported utilization. The 60 day late is considered a serious delinquency, and also one that moves you to dirty scorecard where you'll remain for the next 24 months.
