Anyone else receive a check from Citi? I had a credit card with them years ago (closed in good standing around 2009). Apparently I was enrolled in some kind of debt protection and they are refunding the fees associated with this as a result of an agreement between Citi, "certain of its subsidiaries and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency". I don't generally enroll in this kind of thing so I'm surprised to get this. It's for $25.27.
Good mail day today! I also got my rebate back from tires I bought.
See the article on the CFPB web page, dated July 21, 2015, and titled
“CFPB Orders Citibank to Pay $700 Million in Consumer Relief for Illegal Credit Card Practices.”
Thanks! About 2 1/2 years later I got my $25
I didn't go read the article but I'm wondering if they got in trouble for some kind of shady enrollment practices. I never sign up for those things. It's like past me bought future me pizza tomorrow night while baking pies and brining turkey!

Got a check for $107+ dollars. Don't even remember having the program they used to refund the dollars to me?! In fact, I don't remember being a Citi cardholder? Note, I deposited the check and was not going to "poke the bear."
Could have been a Citi retail division store card or a DSNB card like Macy's or Bloomies too. But hey, I'd take the $100 bucks anyday!
