Chevron FYI

Some of you may already know this, but I didn't so I thought I'd share what I found out for those who don't.

My CL was automatically decreased from Chevron/Texaco earlier this year. I called today to ask the requirements for a CLI - I was told you must have at least a 650 FICO score.

Hope that helps someone, so that they don't have to get a hard pull unnecessarily.

Re: Chevron FYI

I know a lot of cards are decreasing the limits, but how did Chevron know you didn't have a 650, and thus dropping your limit, without doing a hard inq?

Food for thought.....

Re: Chevron FYI

That is a very good question. Guess I'll never know. It's definitely not fair to consumers who have never been late or OTL on the account.

Re: Chevron FYI

I don't think it was decreased due to credit score, however to get it back to where it was or a CLI, she would need a 650 fico.
