Citibank Discrepancies

 Hiya!

So the story goes like this:

I have 2 late payments from Nov and Dec 2012 with Citibank. After contacting them to ask for a GW removal, they said no, and then falsely updated my TU CR to say those late payments occurred in 2014 (which is impossible by the way considering the account was paid/closed by the end of 2012). My myfico TU score immediately dropped 66 points.

I disputed the information, but it came back as "verified". I sent an email to the President's Office asking for an immediate correction and today I see that my myfico TU score has risen 70 points.

My actual question:

Do you think this rise in score is because my TU may currently be in dispute and myfico is not taking the Citi account into effect in scoring? OR, do you think it's because Citi may have actually corrected the dates of the late payments?

I'll find out tomorrow through CK's reporting, but I'm so hesitant to be excited about this score increase... any thoughts?

MODS: I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum - I didn't think it went into rebuilding since this is a CR question, but I might be wrong!

Re: Citibank Discrepancies

Could be due to either one, you will need to check your CR to be sure which one it is. While in dispute certain aspects are removed from FIco scoring, thats a known fact.
