I am seeking some general information regarding the activity of legally cleaning up your credit report after the filing of bankruptcy.
For example I have filed bankruptcy over a year ago, but some accounts still show up with a balance that should have been cleared with the bankruptcy release. It would seem that negative scenario is a double hit with FICO points with it appearing as a dollar debt as well as the negative of the bankruptcy itself. Can I dispute these individual accounts should be removed or balanced to zero since they fall under the Bankruptcy laws.
Also on some accounts that list as charge off, should they be listed under the bankruptcy description or removed from the credit report because of the Bankruptcy already covering this report. Also if the account is covered under Bankruptcy, should the late reports or missed payments be challenged.
Also I have notice that former Collection Agencies are still listed under collections, when these accounts have already been relieved via the bankruptcy laws.
If anyone has any opinions on these areas please let me know.
Thanks
Do you know if by disputing all of these items at once will allow the credit agencies to assume that it is a frivolous inquire. I have read some where that it is better to only dispute a few items at a time, but that would take a life time it seems.
Thanks for your original reply!
