The one that he disputed was in error as it showed the status as unpaid. The other 2 are accurate and show the paid and still under SOL. So, it would be unethical for him to dispute it as "not mine" as they are his and are reporting accurately. He happened to just get lucky with the single removal, they could have just updated it to paid and left it. So, it's a GW situation ( at least on these boards). The only other possibility I can think of for him is if there is any chance that it's beyond reporting SOL.

Brilliant! You keep getting lucky every day with this entry. As far as TU goes what they are now saying is totally ethical for you to dispute, however don't ask for them to update it to paid as you have a good chance of them just wiping it for the incomplete/inaccurate info. Ethics is different from using their own errors against them in a legitimate fashion. You are 2 for 3 now.

Update...
I double checked my TU CR and it lists the status as "Not Reported". I found a phone number for Diversified Adjustment Services and called them a couple minutes ago. They are unable to locate any account information for me. With that in mind, I am sending a dispute letter to TU to change the status from "Not Reported" to "Paid". I should be able to get that one to drop off if they can't find any corroborating information for my account.
I could also send a DV to EX to see what they come up with. More than likely, I should be able to get it to drop off in an "ethical" manner =)
DV letters DO NOT go to the CRAs. just dispute it
