Hello,
As most here, I have been rebuilding. I received an alert yesterday that a collection was added to my reports which of course was devastating. I signed on and looked at it. The collection was for Time Warner Cable the collection agency was Enhanced Recovery. I was absolutely positive that this collection/bill was not mine as I have never/nor did my wife and I ever have Time Warner for Internet or TV. I have had Dish or Direct TV for television for over 20 years, and have had Internet service from a local company for the same period of time with no changes. I have a very very common first and last name, in my city alone there are at least 42 men that I know of with my first and last name.
So I pulled a report... sure enough it was on all 3... did online disputes last night and at noon EST today I received email from Transunion and Experian... logged on and both showed investigation results as deleted... nothing from Equifax yet... I can't believe this was so fast... typically anything I have disputed has taken a few weeks to 30 days. Very happy with the turn time on this... I will never understand how simply having a common name ends up with things hitting an SS# driven credit report... But I have dealt with it so many times it's crazy.
I would guess that once being referrred the dispute, the debt collector simply chose to then report its deletion.
It was likely not deleted by the CRA as a finding in their reinvestigtion that it could not be verified.
You will likely never see s Notice of Results of Reinvestigation from the CRA.
