In my dealings with them - they are collectors- not debt owners for the most part.

Sorry for the late response. I just found out that HSB did sell to I.C. System. They called the other day and said they would start calling my work. Any suggestions on what to do know. I don't wan t a garnishment on my credit score. I'm afraid if I send them a stop letter they will start that procedure.

What is the amount? If it is a small collection (under a 1000) most collection agencies will not sue as it is time consuming. It would be easier for them to sell it to another agency. I.C. Systems is based out of Minnesota. I knew a couple people who worked there. They didn't last long, and they have a Now Hiring banner outside their building permanently. Avoid all phone contact, send a letter saying they cannot call your work, and strictly communicate in letter. Good luck
