Collection Resold

Can anyone tell me, if one collection agency resold my account to another collection agency, does the first collection agency have to delete the item from my credit report? I just sent out a DV letter to the first agency on Friday and got a letter from the new agency today so they crossed in the mail. One more question, how great our my chances that the new agency, if sent a DV, letter won't be able to validate the account? Any help is greatly appreciated.

My understanding is they can both report- but only the one that is active can report new activity and a balance.

Definitely DV then dispute while it is in transition.

for 1 thing you dispute before sending a DV, OR DV at same times as dispute.

Only 1 CA can report at a time!!!!! dispute the first one.and the new one...send a DV to the new one CMRRR

NOW the OC can report at the same time as CA but not 2 CAs

thank you for your responses. As far as SOL, I know my is 4 yrs but is that from when the collection agency got it or the oc? I disputed with cra's and sent a dv letter to the old ca not realizing it had been sold again. the new ca isn't showing up yet on my report. The my report says that the old ca should fall of in 09 but I kinda need it off now.
