Collections item delected by Equifax

I have an item that I disputed and has come off my credit report but am wondering if it reappear (medical bill).   I have never actually called the collection agency so the dispute took place when I ordered my credit report  and disputted it online.

Should I take advantage of the fact that it's off my CR, pay it off to the orginal creditor and utlized that fact as proof that it shouldn't have been a collections item to begin with if it should ever appear back in my CR?

Re: Collections item delected by Equifax

just reread what I wrote.  My question is, now that it's off should i move on or tie any lose ends. Don't want to have to deal with this in the middle of getting a car loan in a few months.

It could reappear.. I wouldn't do anything unless it does. If you do pay.. they could add it as a paid collection would could hurt you.

Makes sense.  Thxs.  Typical of a CA to show to a party when uninvited.

If you do pay.. make sure they agree to never report (in writing).
