Collections

I moved about a year and a half ago from NJ to UT.  I had a medical bill that was never forwarded to my new address, hence I did not pay it, nor did I receive any notifications.  I just received a FICO alert that it went to collections on 3/11 and lowered my FICO score by 44 points.  I immediately investigated and paid the bill, notified the agency and sent a letter to Equifax indicating what happened.  Will this come off my report since I resolved it?

Re: Collections

Really should have made an agreement that if you paid if off the creditor would delete it from your credit report. Showing the collection as paid does not help your score. I would try to contact the CA and ask them to please remove it. You can find GW letters on the forums that can help with that.

Re: Collections

it might  BUT usually they keep reporting for the 7 years.  You  can try sending a GW.  The CRAs do not care what happened!
