Credit Karma transunion score 40 points off

My credit Karma transunion score is 679...i just applied for a credit card and my credit union pulled it and it was 640. Why is it 40 points off...and why use credit karma if it is so innacurate?

CK provides VantageScore 3.0 which very few lenders use, the CU probably used a version of FICO score. CK is good for keeping track of your reports, scores are just good for reference.

As Wiseman/Oldman posted CK and the like are commonly referred to as FAKO scores.

Most lenders use actual Fico scores.. You can obtain yours, from all 3 for $1. Just be sure to cancel the trial offer before it bills you for a renewal, I believe within 7 days.  credit check total
