About 3 weeks ago, I paid off all my credit cards. However, it seems to take a long time for the cards to update (I know, at least a month). I'm dying to see how my lower credit utilization affects my credit scores. Credit Karma and Myfico both show zero balances on my cards, but then in the utilization area, they show the old balances. Why the disconnect?
Putting together a commercial credit report is a merging of the raw info extrated via the CRA from your credit file with whatever formatting and other presentation that the vendor wishes to do with the raw data. The report most likely shows the raw balance extracted from the CRA without then transferring that information to other portions of their report.
Thanks for the response. It's just frustrating to have to wait so long for my scores to rise when I paid off the cards weeks ago. Just anxious, I guess. ![]()

Accounts do not immediately or instantly report. Accounts typically report once a month. Be aware of the report dates for each of your accounts. Most cards report on statement date but not all do. Even after a creditor reports it can take the CRA several business days to update the report.
UPDATE: My scores must have finally updated everywhere as I just got approved for the FenPed Platinum Rewards Visa with a CL of $6,500. That's the largest credit line I've ever gotten. Yay for me! lol ![]()
