Credit Score Negative factors

Hi,

EQ and TU are reporting "recent missed payment or derogatory indictors on credit report" while EX is not. This is for mortgage models FICO 5, 4, and 2. The EX score is roughly 30 points higher as well.

I cannot locate the missed payment or derogatory that is "recent". Last missed payment was over 2 years ago.

Any advise on how to figure this out and correct EQ and TU? This has been going on for around a year or so.

Thanks!!!

Where are you seeing this? Have you verified on TU & EQ with CK?

Re: Credit Score Negative factors

Hi. Thanks for responding.

I'm seeing this in the 3B bureau report from myfico.com

No recent missed payments and derogatories appear on credit karma as well.

Note this only applies to the older mortgage scoring models. It is not there on FICO 8.

Thanks.

Re: Credit Score Negative factors

It sounds like you do see missed payments on your reports -- it's just that the only ones you can see are from 2 years ago.  Is that right?

If so, the thing that is confusing you is the word "recent" -- which you are interpreting as something like "the last six months."  I don't think there are separate reason statement for lates that have happened very recently vs. lates that happened (say) 5 years ago.  My guess is that it is the same reason statement in either case.

Does the 2 year old late appear on all three reports, including EX?

My advice is to pull your full credit reports at annualCreditReport.com and go over them with a fine tooth comb, looking at every account and also at the month-by-month payment history on each.  Then let us know what you find.

Folks here also might be able to hazard a better guess if the you list the four negative reason statements for each of the three bureaus in order (reason 1 to reason 4).

Re: Credit Score Negative factors

Everything on your credit report can be considered "recent."  That being said, a late payment from 6.5 years ago that is still visible can be considered a "recent" late payment.  Also mentioned above was Credit Karma, which uses fluff software that will tell you that you have "100% payment history" so long as you have no late payments in the last 2 years.  Their software paints a misleading picture by providing you with pretty charts and graphs that don't always properly represent what is impacting your FICO scores.
