Applied for a new apartment today, complex ran my report through RentGrow. Application came back rejected, the lady from the apartment complex called and asked me if I could try and get a copy of the report from them because she can't see it, only corporate can, and she still wants me to have the apartment but would have to escalate it and it's up to corporate.
Contacted RentGrow and got a copy of my report and it lists:
"Additional Information
Reasons for Result
• Judgment or Collection from Utility Provider
• Limited Credit Experience"
I only got my first CC a bit over a year ago, so okay, that's fair. But the judgment or collection? My only utility is for electricity and I have been with the same provider for three years and current every month. I actually report the account through Experian and their credit boost tool, and it is listed on the report itself!

I've started a dispute with the tenant screeners, but I'm concerned that I'm going to lose the apartment and take a hard pull for nothing. Anyone have experience with something like this?
I don't use the Experian Boost. I wonder if the so called help your credit with utilities reported is being coded as collections. Contact Experian if this what your last utility was Feb/Mar to be reporting as of March 20th. It would be a disaster for people who have signed up for the Boost only to be coded as collections.
Please let us know.
I disputed the collections and they got back to me today with an updated screening report removing that item. Unfortunatley they gave no information as to why they initially reported that, and the apartment in question was rented to someone else and others in the complex are multiple hundreds of dollars more a month. In the end I just took a hard pull for nothing and have no real reason as to why it came up in collections.
