I just tried to sign up for CCT and it gave me the security questions.Which had nothing to do with my credit report. This isnt the first time this has happened with Experian security questions. It also has happened with EQ once or twice.
I have seen my credit reports through Experian's own app and my free annual credit reports, along with credit karma and Creditwise.
There is nothing on there that isn't mine and the personal infomation is correct. I check them regularly as well. Haven't seen anything thats not mine.
Any suggestions on what I should do about this ? Is this a computer glitch that keeps happening or is there something else going on ?
It had questions about a car I own/lease and gave me options of 1-5. No option for zero. I had an auto loan about 9 years ago but I don't have that car any longer and the car I have today, was a college graduation present from my parents. So it's owned outright.
This isnt the first time an auto loan question has come up that didn't apply to me but I was locked into an answer. I chose 1 this time since I figured that they might count that extremely old loan. But Before it's also happened where I had to choose a lender and none of them were even close to the company that gave me the loan. and I googled other names for the loan company I had at the time and none of them were remotely close.
Also it gave me a question about my spouses highest level of education. I'm not married and haven't ever been married. Yet there was no option for Does not apply or something to that effect.
Hadn't seen a question like this before
Also asked for my highest level of education which I selected.
Anyway I failed the ID check but it also has me worried.
What can I do about this ?
Get your LexisNexis personal reports and see if anything is on there that is incorrect.
When I started rebuilding, my security questions were things about my dad's second wife (who I barely know!) and I couldn't answer any of them. It's annoying.
It is my understanding that some of these questions are not supposed to apply to you. This makes it more difficult if your identity is stolen, however I have always had a "none of the above" option.
I posted about a choosing a monitoring service and mentioned that I failed the CCT check and about this thread.
If a mod could somehow combine these topics since we started talking about the same thing. That would be great.
I tried to access EQ through ACR online and it gave me the same funny questions. Not a single one of them had to do with me or my credit report. This time it gave me the option for none of the above. So I chose those options and failed the ID check.
Thanks everyone
