Credit after bankruptcy

If you know that you are going to have to file bankruptcy reaffirm and keep one credit card because they impact the fico score the most. if the bankruptcy court or trustee will not allow this then get a secured card after the discharge of a chapter 7 or the closing of a chapter 13 which usually id about 2-4 months after the filing date. from the time you have filed a bankruptcy do not be late for any reason, even one time. You will devesatte your score about minus 200 points and will stay around the 500 range until the bankruptcy falls off. Make sure you reestablish new credit. Most likely you will have to secure new accounts with cash. In other words secured credit cards. Some financial institutions will not allow you to go unsecured for at least 5 years from the discharge date.

Re: Credit after bankruptcy

Can't get a secured credit card even after bankruptcy 7! Went to 3 different banks and they all said NO even with $2,000.00 of my own money!

I have a great job too! What can I do?
