The only two things that a credit freeze is preventing access by any creditors to your report and will not allow new accounts to be opened. Even with current relations with your bank or credit union you will need to undo the credit freeze when it comes to credit line increases or applying for new loans.
I just added my last credit freeze and I asked Transunion those questions. Now open credit cards and loans will not be affected unless you request a credit increase on the limit because they will need to pull a new report. So be prepared to have some small delays. By that I mean it can take a few minutes to possible two days if it falls on a weekend or holiday.
So if you know you are going to be seeking more or new credit then have the credit freezes undone the day before nd if it's on a Saturday have it done on Friday. Credit freezes will also not allow you to get instant credit like at Walmart when you can apply at the register.
Folks, these are things that you have to keep in mind before adding a credit freeze. Now if your creditor only pulls one credit bureau, then you will need to only worry about one. Major loans such as vehicle & mortgage require all three credit bureau reports to be pulled.
If oyu are organized and plan ahead of time you will have either no stress or eevry little.
