Credit reporting after a charge-off

My wife has an old credit card balance that was charged off several years ago. For some reason it has recently began reporting 90 days late every month. Can creditors report late payments for time periods following a charge-off and does the subsequent appearance of recent activity effect her score more than the charge-off?

Re: Credit reporting after a charge-off

Yes, an account can continue to accrue lates after a charge-off is reported.

A charge-off is an accounting action, and its reporting does not affect the contnued obligation for the entire debt, or the contuned accrual of delinquencies.

It is a tag-on reporting.

A charge-off is the epitome of lateness, and is its own major delinquency.

As to whether increased level of delinquency affects scoring, there has never been, to my knowldedge, a statement by Fair Isaac on that issue, but I would presume that the CO incorportates, in its scoring, all levels of included delinquency, so I would presume the answer ia no.

However, its reporting is clearly one of the most derogatory of adverse reportings.

Yeah I have one charge off reporting plus collection that goes with it from CA, it's definitely hurting my score, can't wait for it to fall off in Dec 2015.
